Jackie Sear set up E.A.S.E. as a resident of Copley Close Estate in Hanwell in 2001. E.A.S.E. aims to inspire, empower, enable and support personal community development through the skills, talent and diversity within estate communities.
Through personal and professional experience, Jackie has been able to develop an organisation that has grown from an idea to a respected service provider employing 25 members of staff and 50 volunteers working across Ealing and providing direct support to two estates.
Having been involved in all aspects of youth work since 1989, Jackie developed and delivered the 'With Youth' training course to resident groups. This course received great feedback from the 32 groups of trainees and underpins the knowledge required for NVQ2 Youth Work. However, without ongoing and financial support it is difficult for emerging groups to keep up the momentum, and therefore Estate of Mind was developed to fulfil the training and development needs by providing the theory and practical knowledge required to reach our community aims.
All of E.A.S.E.'s activities, including Estate of Mind are embedded with the following ethos -
Empowerment: creating opportunities for people to take charge of their own lives
Equality: providing everyone equal access to information, services and activities
Common sense: ensuring our responses to need are grounded and useful
Participation: encouraging inclusion and active involvement at every level
Enterprise: Promoting innovative solutions and long term financial independence
